Kyle Kolpek

Undergraduate Research Student

Kyle received his  B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky. For the majority of his undergraduate career he worked under Dr. Brent Seales, with the EDUCE Digital Restoration project, working to extract data from Herculaneum scrolls. He worked using tools such as Seg3D, Voreen, unu, and ITK to coax out and visualize any usable data.

Christy frames and tells the stories of our research – its technical achievements and broader impacts – to diverse audiences. She also manages the relationships with all our stakeholders, including foundations, student researchers, philanthropic donors, collaborating academics, partner institutions, and media representatives. Her work includes mentoring students in the process of producing and disseminating research results; writing and editing articles, lectures, grant proposals, website pages, and other communication vehicles; managing our digital assets; and ensuring compliance with proper contractual agreements.
