Sydney joined as a sophomore at the University of Kentucky majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. Alongside her lab partner Bruno, Sydney has worked to develop the team’s image registration program to study ancient artifacts such as the opened Herculaneum scrolls and develop the Quick Segment Tool which aids in the virtual unwrapping pipeline of the closed Herculaneum scrolls. She enjoys working with everyone on the team and getting to work on such an impactful project that has had such an influence on her career. She feels that her tenacity on the project has taught her a better understanding of computer science and its vast applications.
